Dr. Isabelle Paquet-Durand
For the decade while Dr. Isabelle Paquet-Durand was a vet and Ph.D. student, Dr. Isabelle could be found in the jungles of Central America volunteering her services as a veterinarian. Dr. Isabelle completed her Ph.D. dissertation research in Costa Rica where she worked in parasitology department at the Esquela Medicina Veterinaria. Thereafter, she worked with wildlife projects in both North and South America before moving to Belize in 2003. There she continued to volunteer her wildlife veterinary services, and teach at Galen University. In 2008 she founded the Belize Wildlife Conservation Network, and in 2011 she founded the Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic where she is the Executive Director and Wildlife Veterinarian. Dr. Isabelle is an active board member with Friends for Conservation and Development and the Belize Veterinary Surgeon’s Board. She is also the Belize representative to the Commonwealth Veterinary Association, and secretary of the Belize Veterinary Association. Dr. Isabelle’s passion is Wildlife Medicine, Conservation and teaching. When she’s not glued to her computer, she’s assisting wildlife or enjoying Belize’s natural beauty.
